Will President Trump’s Executive Order, Forming the National Energy Dominance Council, Mark the Beginning of U.S. Energy Independence?

The National Energy Dominance Council was established by President Donald Trump with the intention of providing recommendations on ways to increase American energy production. As he signed executive orders in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump declared, "This is a major thing," promising to unleash America's energy potential.
Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum will head the National Energy Dominance Council, which will also include a number of senior cabinet and agency leaders. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright will serve as the council's vice chairman.
The council's goals are to increase output, expedite permitting, and eliminate administrative barriers to American energy supremacy. As Burgum underlined the need to make the most of America's plentiful energy resources, especially on public lands and offshore, President Trump declared the Biden administration's "war on U.S. energy" to be finished.
In an effort to position the US as the world's largest energy producer, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday creating the National Energy Dominance Council. Energy Secretary Chris Wright will be the council's vice chairman, while Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will be its chairman. The council, which is made up of important cabinet members and agency representatives, is tasked with developing plans to increase energy output, enhance the permission procedure, and remove regulatory barriers.
The council's goals were described in a White House statement on the order, which emphasized the necessity of reducing bureaucratic red tape in order to boost domestic energy investment. A White House spokeswoman emphasized prior to the signing that the project will also prioritize energy cost reduction.
"The war on American energy is officially finished," Burgum said as he stood next to Trump in the Oval Office, criticizing the Biden administration's approach to U.S. energy policy. 500 million acres of surface land, 700 million acres of subterranean minerals, and almost two billion acres offshore are just a few of the enormous untapped resources he cited as assets that have been overlooked by prior regimes. Burgum stated, "That balance sheet is the largest in the world, and it has been utterly underused."
Wright reiterated those remarks, pointing out that officials now have the authority to address regulatory obstacles that have impeded the growth of domestic energy thanks to Trump's order. "We now have authority across the administration to lean in to tackle these problems thanks to this tremendous move from our president," he said.
Trump signed a separate executive order that prohibits federal financing for schools that follow COVID-19 immunization mandates in addition to the energy-focused one. Breitbart News reported on the order just hours before it was signed.
