U.S. District Court Judge Eleanor Ross upheld Georgia's Citizenship Verification
In federal court in the Northern District of Georgia today, U.S. District Court Judge Eleanor Ross upheld Georgia's citizenship verification process by granting Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's motion to dismiss all claims challenging it.
Secretary Raffensperger emphasized the importance of ensuring that only U.S. citizens participate in elections for secure and accurate results. He affirmed that Georgia's citizenship verification process is effective and vital for maintaining election integrity.
This ruling comes after a previous favorable decision in the Fair Fight Action case in 2022. The case dismissed by Judge Ross was filed by various organizations, including New Georgia Project and Common Cause Georgia, alleging violations of the U.S. Constitution, Voting Rights Act, and National Voter Registration Act.
