FDA Adviser Dr. Michael Kurilla Opposes Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine for Young Children: Here’s Why
FDA adviser, Dr. Michael Kurilla was the only member on the vaccine advisory panel to abstain from the vote that “essentially authorized Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children as young as 5,” According to The Epoch Times, Dr. Kurilla’s reason for abstaining from giving his vote was because of “limited safety and efficacy data.”
Surprisingly, all 17 of the other members voted in favor of authorizing the jab for children between the ages of 5 and 11 with minimum data showing how children would be affected by the vaccine! According to one article, “ Among some of the concerns brought up by the experts related to vaccinating younger children was the risk of myocarditis, a rare condition that is an inflammation of the heart muscle.
Dr. Matthew Oster, a member of the CDC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, presented some data on myocarditis to the FDA committee and said so far officials had received 1,640 reports of myocarditis in vaccinated people under 30. The cases include 877 that met the CDC’s case definition for the heart condition, and 637 cases that remained under review.”
Dr. Kurilla told reporters at The Epoch times, “My abstention was based on the specific question the FDA asked. A ‘no’ vote would have been misconstrued as my opinion about the vaccine. There are high-risk groups within the 5–11 age group that would benefit from the vaccine, suggesting a more tailored approach.”
It appears that many of the members who voted “yes” for the authorization of giving the jab to children, approached their decision with an experimental line of reasoning lacking clear data. Take as an example the statement of Dr. Eric Rubin who concluded: “We’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it. That’s just the way it goes. That’s how we found out about rare complications of other vaccines, like the rotavirus vaccine, according to a Patriots Social article.”
