CNN Decides: “Fredo” Chris Cuomo Has Got to Go!
CNN recently announced that it is suspending anchor Chris Cuomo after an investigation by the New York Attorney General revealed that he used CNN media sources to dig up dirt on the accusers of his brother Andrew Cuomo, currently under investigation amisdt sexual misconduct allegations.
According to one news source, "The New York Attorney General's office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo's involvement in his brother's defense," CNN began its statement Tuesday evening. "The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions. When Chris admitted to us he had offered advice to his brother's staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second."
While CNN has carefully attached the term “pending evaluation” to Chris Cuomo’s indefinite suspension, it’s more than likely that like Jeffery Toobin, who was suspended for exposing himself to colleagues during a Zoom call, Cuomo’s suspension will not be as indefinite as we might think. But after all, what should we expect?
