According to a recent Fox News report, “A California city is planning to give universal basic income (UBI) to transgender and nonbinary residents. Transgender residents in Palm Springs, California are eligible to receive a UBI of up to $900 per month solely for identifying as transgender or nonbinary — no strings attached.”
Weighing in on this story, The New America reported “Some may also wonder about California’s priorities. For the state has poor educational outcomes; rampant crime, with shoplifting common and even train robbery making a comeback; sky-high gas prices; rolling summer blackouts due to green fantasies; exorbitant taxes and an unfriendly business environment; wildfires caused by forest mismanagement; the country’s highest poverty level; and vagrancy as w way of life, among other problems.”
