MAN WHO TRIED TO ASSASSINATE DONALD TRUMP RELEASED FROM PRISON

A British man who made an attempt on the life of Donald Trump has been freed from prison and ordered to return home after almost a year in the United States.
Michael Steven Sandford, 21, was arrested last year for trying to grab a gun from a police officer in an attempt to shoot Donald Trump, then-republican presidential candidate at a campaign rally in Las Vegas.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman, Virginia Kice said Michael Steven Sandford was escorted by federal agents aboard a commercial aircraft for his flight from Seattle to London on Wednesday. She also confirmed that the young Briton had been held at a federal prison near the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Investigations revealed that Sandford had overstayed a 90-day visa after entering the United States in June 2015. He was also confirmed to suffer from seizures, anxiety and autism spectrum disorders.
In December 2016, a federal judge acknowledged that Sandford was suffering from a psychotic mental illness at the time of the incident and that he would be deported after he served his time in prison.
The 21-year-old showed up at a Trump rally in Las Vegas in June. He moved close to the stage where he noticed a holstered gun strapped to a policeman's side and suddenly lunged for it as Donald Trump was speaking before a crowd. Michael Steven Sandford was convicted of "disrupting an official function" and illegally possessing a firearm and subsequently sentenced to a year in prison.
Several media outlets in Britain on Friday carried reports that Sandford had arrived back in the United Kingdom on Thursday after spending about five months in American prison.
During his sentencing in June, the Judge said to the 21-year-old, "You should not be ashamed or embarrassed about [your condition], you need medication. You're not a hardened criminal. You're not evil or a sociopath like a lot of people we have."
