STEPHEN COLBERT IN HOT WATER…… DID HIS MONOLOGUE GO TO FAR?

Television host and author Stephen Colbert has reached an all-time low for a joke he made about President Donald Trump on Monday night which has gotten him into trouble.
The “Late Show” host has been receiving backlash on social media for a profane joke that many believe to be “homophobic”.
During his opening monologue on Monday night, Stephen Colbert criticized the decision of President Trump to abruptly halt an interview with CBS News’ “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson.
In a foul-mouthed rant, the late night talk show host said, “Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine,” “You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your moth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c—k holster” he continued.
Stephen Colbert’s jokes especially his final remarks have received unanimous condemnation and so many fans had strong words for the 53-year-old. Several viewers took to social media to express their disgust and to declare Colbert homophobic and disrespectful.
The hashtag #FireColbert has been trending ever since and there have been calls in some sections for people to boycott sponsors of the late-night show and for Colbert to be relieved of his duties.
This is not the first time Colbert would be caught up in controversy. It would be recalled that in 2014, the #CancelColbert hashtag was created after he joked “I am willing to show#Asiancommunity I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever”. Stephen Colbert made the remarks on “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central.
There has been no official response to the whole saga by CBS. It is also left to be seen if Colbert will respond to the wave of backlash and criticism he has received.
