What Do the Current Number of Illegal Alien Border Crossings Tell the American People?

The Southwest border saw just 229 illegal alien interactions in the past 24 hours, according to Border Czar Tom Homan. Compared to 11,000 every day under Joe Biden, there is a decrease. “I don’t remember the numbers ever being that low when I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984,” he continued. Tom Homan revealed that the number of unlawful border crossings has decreased to the lowest level he has seen in forty years.

The information was released a few days after Homan declared that, based on Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, unlawful border crossing had decreased by 90% from the same time last year.

In the first two weeks of February, the southern border apprehended the fewest illegal aliens since 1968, with only 359 illegal aliens each day. We have not had numbers this low since the 1960s, if you sort of break them down and divide them by 365. "Obviously, if it continues, we are talking about 60-year lows," stated Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies. Over 4,800 illegal aliens were processed daily during the same time last year.

The decline in numbers at the southern border is in addition to the huge deportations of illegal aliens started by border czar Tom Homan. Homan is requesting an additional $175 billion in funds to protect the border and implement his programs. Homan also detailed the number of criminal illegal alien offenders apprehended since Trump's return to the White House.

We have already had success on the border. We have more work to do. In a recent Fox News interview, Homan stated that the deportation operation had resulted in over 5,000 arrests in the first week, with the bulk of them being criminals.

"Who are the non-criminals that the media is talking about? Sanctuary cities arrest non-criminals because they force us into the community rather than arresting the bad man in jail, and when we discover that criminal, he is most likely with others, and they will go as well. If you want to be a sanctuary city, you will have more agents in the neighborhood and more criminals caught," he said.

San Diego, California, remains the top region for illegal border crossings, with 934 illegal migrants crossing so far this month. The Trump administration has almost completely closed off the border with Mexico. They have also ended the "catch and release" strategy of the Biden administration, sent thousands more troops to the border, and started deporting people across the country.

In the first 18 days of Trump's presidency, 11,000 illegal aliens were arrested as a result of the new administration's focus on increasing ICE raids. Following a nearly year-long stop by the Maduro dictatorship, Trump has also resumed deportation flights to Venezuela and begun transporting illegal immigration criminals to Guantanamo Bay.
