What Do the American People Think About President Trump’s Pick for Head of Voice of America, Kari Lake?

Kari Lake, a close associate and former Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Arizona, will lead the Voice of America, according to a statement made by President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday. Lake, a seasoned news anchor with decades of experience, would collaborate with Trump's unnamed U.S. Agency for Global Media chairman to bring back broadcasting's impartiality, a move Trump claims combats "Fake News Media."

Trump emphasized Lake's strong support for his campaigns and her close ties to Arizona, where she was a cherished TV anchor for more than 20 years. With a $267 million budget, Lake will serve as Director of Voice of America, a taxpayer-funded worldwide media organization that has come under fire for its handling of divisive topics and apparent prejudice during the Biden administration.

"Kari will ensure that the American ideals of Freedom and Liberty are conveyed around the world FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies perpetrated by the Fake News Media," Trump stated in his statement on Truth Social.

Several other significant appointments were also announced by Trump on Wednesday, including Leandro Rizzuto as Ambassador to the Organization of American States, Daniel Newlin as Ambassador to Colombia, and Michael Rigas as Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources.
