President Trump’s Department of Education Calls for Restoration of Records for Female Athletes

The National Collegiate Athletic Association is being urged by President Donald Trump's Department of Education to reinstate female athletes' records and honors.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) was asked by the U.S. Department of Education to "repair the records" of all the female athletes whose championships and honors were taken by men who competed against them under false pretenses of being female.

In a letter to the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations, the Office of General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education requested that they return to female athletes the records, titles, honors, and recognitions that male competitors in female categories had stolen.

In a statement, Deputy General Counsel Candice Jackson said, "The Trump Education Department will do everything in our power to right this wrong and champion the hard-earned accomplishments of past, current, and future female collegiate athletes." Under President Trump's bold leadership, the NCAA has correctly changed its discriminatory practices against female athletes, and men will no longer be allowed to compete in women's sports regardless of their identity. "The next necessary step is to restore athletic records to women who have for years been devalued, ignored, and forced to watch men steal their accolades."

"It is long overdue for a president to acknowledge and celebrate women's accomplishments. Returning stolen athletic accolades to their rightful owners is a crucial step towards reinstating accountability, integrity, and common sense—one that I wholeheartedly support." Gaines stated that women had been pleading for equal opportunities to compete and succeed for the past four years, only to be ignored.

To support Trump's executive order on the matter, the NCAA last week prohibited male-born athletes from participating in women's sports. Although they will not be able to compete in NCAA-sanctioned events, student-athletes assigned male at birth will still be permitted to practice with women's teams and get certain perks, according to the association.

People like Lia Thomas, a man who notably stole the 2022 NCAA Division I national championship in 500-yard freestyle swimming from the women he was competing against, will have their titles erased if the NCAA and NFHS agree.

In keeping with his promise made during his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump signed the executive order "No Men in Women's Sports," which essentially prohibits transgender women and girls from competing in female sports competitions at educational institutions that receive federal funding.

The two sports organizations should develop policies that adhere to the "clear, fact-based language" in President Donald Trump's executive order, "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government," which is in accordance with the executive order, "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports." According to the letter, preventing major injuries sustained by female athletes from bigger, stronger male competitors is one of the main goals of the "Women's Sports" edict.
