Criminal Probe Against President Trump Loses Steam as Prosecutors Resign
Despite a statement from New York’s DA office that the fraud investigation is ongoing, according to a recent breaking report from the Western Journal “Two prosecutors assigned to a fraud investigation targeting former President Donald Trump suddenly resigned on Wednesday, raising new concerns about a probe Trump has criticized as a partisan hit job.”
“Carey R. Dunne and Mark F. Pomerantz submitted their resignations after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg told them that he doubted the merits of a case against Trump.” Danielle Filson, spokeswoman for the Manhattan DA, did not give a reason for the resignation of the two prosecutors, only adding “we are grateful for their service.” However, a report hinted that the resignation followed the prosecutor's failure to question a witness before the grand jury had convened on the matter.
