AG Bondi Calls Out Activist D.C. Judge James Boasberg for Unconstitutional Overreach into Foreign Policy

President Donald Trump's attorney general, Pam Bondi, chastised U.S. District Court Chief Judge James Boasberg for trying to acquire "national security information," claiming that his request was unlawful and illegal. "He is attempting to inquire about national security information to which he has no right whatsoever!" On Sunday Morning Futures, Bondi told Maria Bartiromo of Fox News.

The remarks followed Boasberg's order to stop deportation planes carrying illegal immigrants with gang affiliations, including MS-13 members, many of whom had been returned to El Salvador only days earlier. Judge Boasberg, according to Bondi, "dragged us into court on a Saturday" with no warning, which she described as a legal ambush.

The administration is unfazed, she said, and will go back to court on Monday to pursue its appeal. "We will prevail. We shall win. She continued, citing the incarceration of those individuals in El Salvador as one of the 261 reasons Americans are safer today.

The Trump administration's strict approach to public safety and border enforcement is reflected in the larger conflict. According to Bondi, the Democratic Party's national popularity has plummeted to 29% as a result of the party's unwillingness to support significant border security.

She linked the problem to President Trump's reaffirmed "Make America Safe Again" goal, saying, "People want to be safe." Additionally, Bondi cited the Alien Enemies Act, arguing that it is still relevant in the current immigration environment. She emphasized that the administration is still detaining "violent criminals" in spite of the court challenge, saying, "Old law is often the best law."

According to her remarks, the administration is actively seeking enforcement under statutes that grant broad jurisdiction in times of national emergency in addition to appealing the decision. Bondi criticized Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) harshly on a different but related matter after she recently stated that she wanted Elon Musk "taken down" on her birthday. Bondi cautioned Crockett to "tread cautiously," pointing out the gravity of such statements from a sitting member of Congress. Days after accusing three people of damaging Tesla properties, Bondi issued the warning.
