IT IS OFFICAL; JAMES COMEY; YOU'RE FIRED!
President Donald Trump has relieved FBI Director James Comey of his role as FBI Director, in other words: "You're Fired!" The president acted on the recommendations of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Comey’s dismissal was confirmed in a brief statement from White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. President Trump also notified James Comey of his decision in a letter which reads, “It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.”
In a statement released later on Tuesday, the president said, “The FBI is one of our nation's most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement.”
James Comey is an appointee of the Barack Obama administration. However, Comey has found himself in so many controversies in recent times. His decision to thrust himself into the political spotlight has done him more harm than good.
It would be recalled that Comey held a press conference in 2016 and announced that he was not making recommendations against filing charges against Hillary Clinton over her email practices as secretary of state.
However, with just a few days to the election, Comey informed congress that investigations were being reopened. This was after he discovered a previously-unexamined cache of emails on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner, who is married to Huma Abedin, a close aide of Clinton. Many Democrats still blame Comey for his actions and they feel it was a contributing factor in the final outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
Senator Chuck Schumer spoke out against the decision to fire Comey stating that “Firing Comey was a big mistake.” We the people also know it was a big mistake for Comey not to have Hillary Clinton indicted for mishandling on her emails by housing them on a private server thus risking national security.
