CHILD INJURED RETURNING FROM DISNEYLAND BY MEXICAN DRUNK DRIVER DEPORTED 15 TIMES PRIOR
A little boy sustained serious head injuries after an alleged drunk driver hit the car his family was driving in on Tuesday. This report was confirmed by a family source.
The six-year-old-boy identified as Lennox was returning from Disneyland with his father and mother. They were just a few distance from home when the incident occurred. Investigations revealed that Lennox was in the rear passenger seat when a vehicle came flying around the corner, wheels squealing and slammed into them. They went through a guardrail and stopped facing the opposite direction.
According to Lennox’s uncle, the little boy suffered serious injuries to his head and has undergone a surgery. His parents also sustained major wounds.
His teary father Ben Lake said; “Right now, he has a lot of swelling and can’t open either of his eyes so he’s scared about why he can’t see. I just really care about bringing him home and making sure he’s happy again.”
Border Patrol agents found multiple victims at the scene of the incident at the intersection of Camino De La Plaza and Dairy Mart Road. This was around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Further findings revealed that the hit-and-run suspect drove in a Chevrolet pickup truck. About 30 minutes later, Border Patrol agents discovered a badly damaged vehicle at Vista Lane that matched the description. The driver was arrested by San Diego Police. He was suspected of driving under the influence. The driver was later identified as a Mexican whose name is Constantino Banda-Acosta and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials disclosed that he has been deported 15 times during a 15-year period.
“But those are just numbers to a man who only wants to see his son healthy again. It’s tough to know somewhere that the system is breaking down but I’m really just trying to focus on Lennox coming home and making him happy. I hope justice does their job and things work out the right way,” Ben Lake continued.
Banda was arrested and subsequently transported to a Border Patrol station. On Wednesday, he pleaded not guilty to several charges which include driving without a license and a hit-and-run crash resulting in injuries. If found guilty, he could serve a 7-year jail term.
