HAPPY DAYS’ STAR ERIN MORAN DIES AT 56

Erin Moran, the popular actress who played the kid-sister role in the sitcom “Happy Days” is dead. She died at the age of 56.
Her body was found unresponsive by authorities in Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said they got a 911 call at 4:07 p.m. for “an unresponsive female”.
The Department added that, “Upon the arrival, it was determined that the female was Erin Marie Moran-Fleischmann. First responders determined that she was deceased and an autopsy is pending.”
Ron Howard who played Richie Cunningham in ‘Happy Days’ posted on Twitter, “Such sad news… I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better, getting laughs and lighting up TV screens”. Ron Howard is now a renowned movie director.

Ms. Erin Moran started her acting career at the very tender age of 5. She enjoyed successful spells on television and in films in the late 1960s and early ’70s. It was at the age of 12 that she got her biggest role and one that would eventually propel her to stardom when she played the role of Joanie, the sister of Richie Cunningham. The show ‘Happy Days’ was aired for10 years and the end of it marked the beginning of what would eventually become a steady decline in the acting career of Erin Moran. Moran was only 22 when the show ended.
Erin Moran was born on October 18, 1960 in Burbank, California. Moran and her five siblings were raised in North Hollywood by their parents Sharon and Edward Moran.
The ‘Happy Days’ was set in Milwaukee and was aired from 1974 to 1984. Erin Murphy, one of Erin Moran’s good friends also expressed his shock on Twitter, “So sad to share that my friend Erin Moran has passed away. Rest in Peace, sweet girl,” he wrote.
