Vaccine Mandate Demonstrators Protests at Brooklyn NBA Arena in Support of Kyrie Irving
In support of Kyrie Irving, anti-vaccine protestors attempted to rush into the doors of the Barclays Center prior to the start of an NBA game event, some chanting “No vaccine mandate, Stand with Kyrie,” according to a Talk Basket report. Irving was not permitted to play in the game because of the New York vaccination mandate, and “the Nets decided he wouldn’t be part of the team at all until he could be a full participant”, according to reports.
Prior to the game tip off time, protestors pushed past barricades outside the arena and attempted to rush into the arena, according to NBC New York. This brave display of defiance follows statements that Irving made earlier this month on Instagram when he stated “I love basketball and I’m not going to retire,” also adding: “I am doing what’s best for me. I know the consequences here and if it means that I’m judged and demonized for that, that’s just what it is. That’s the role I play, but I never wanted to give up my passion, my love, my dream just over this mandate," according to NBA news.
Kyrie Irving’s stand against the NBA’s vaccine mandate follows the recent story we shared about Brandon Goodwin, an NBa player who claimed that taking the vaccine ended his season as a result of complications he experienced after vaccination.
