The FDA Authorizes Antibody Cocktail Drug Regeneron Used By President Trump
On Saturday U.S. health regulators authorized Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s COVID-19 antibody drug cocktail to treat patients who have not been hospitalized but are at a high risk of developing the China virus. Some scepticism is in order but the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the antibody drug cocktail under the guise that it will be used to treat mild to moderate patients 12 years of age and older.
While Regeneron’s drug is still being tested in clinical trials, it claims to combine two lab-made antibodies designed to latch onto the novel coronavirus in order to prevent it from replicating and hijacking human cells, according to scientists in Tarrytown New York. Allegedly, this was the same treatment given to President Trump in October for the treatment of COVIS-19, which prompted him to proclaim: “I felt good immediately!”
