Just How Close Are We to World War III as NATO Prepares for War with Russia?

In preparation for a possible full-scale conflict, NATO is deploying its forces and strategic plans, according to Lieutenant-General Alexander Sollfrank, chief of the organization's logistics command. This hasty preparation serves as a stark reminder that World War III is imminent.

Over the course of the past two and a half years of the war in Ukraine, we have witnessed how US and NATO support for Kiev has gradually crossed all of the Russian "red lines," leading us to the terrifying conclusion that the West is poised to approve an attack using its long-range missiles deep within Russian territory, a move that could have unthinkable repercussions.

This has prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to issue another warning, saying that if the West permits Ukraine to utilize long-range missiles, they would be "at war" with Russia and, as we shall see, be the ones to fire them.

General Sollfrank has reportedly acknowledged that NATO is creating mass evacuation and rescue plans in order to deal with the potential difficulties of a big war with Russia, according to Daily Mail reporting.

NATO recently convened its biggest military exercises since the Cold War, including 90,000 troops from over 30 member states, as part of a deliberate effort to strengthen its defenses.

The goal of these drills, known as Steadfast Defender 2024, is to evaluate the alliance's combined capabilities in the land, air, sea, and cyber domains. It is also being considered to mobilize American troops to the front lines in Europe, with plans being developed to guarantee prompt deployment in the case of a deterioration.

In addition, European countries are rushing to improve their military prowess. While Poland has dedicated close to 5% of its GDP to defense spending, Germany has committed more than €100 billion to modernizing its armed forces.

As the alliance prepared for a potential future threat from Russia, Foreign Policy reported last July that NATO is set to encourage all 32 member nations to create complete civil defense policies in preparation for potential large-scale attacks.

Officials with knowledge of the talks claim that NATO leaders will formally request this move at the Washington summit the following year.

"We want to advocate in Washington for all allies to establish a national planning procedure that integrates military and civilian preparedness for Article 5," a NATO representative stated.

According to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO), any attack on one member of the alliance also affects the other members. This implies that all members of NATO have a duty to support the member who has been attacked and may resort to using force if required.
