Is NYC Mayor Adams a Victim of the Same Weaponized Justice System that Was Imposed Against President Trump because of His Stand Against the Burdens of Illegal Immigration in New York?

The Democratic mayor presented himself in his speech as a victim of political persecution, saying that the Biden administration picked him out because of his position on the current immigration situation.

Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, is the first elected official in the history of the city to be charged with a crime.  Following months of federal corruption investigations into campaign funding and purported payoff schemes involving high-ranking politicians, the indictment—which is still sealed—was brought forth.

In response to the indictment, 64-year-old Adams made a forceful two-minute video statement at Gracie Mansion.

The Democratic mayor presented himself in his speech as a victim of political persecution, saying that the Biden administration picked him out because of his position on the current immigration situation.

Adams declared, "I now think the federal government is trying to charge me with crimes." If so, these accusations are wholly untrue and rest on fabrications.

The mayor continued by saying that he "always knew" that his opinions would make him a target, especially since he had criticized how the federal government was managing the immigration crisis.

After speaking out against the border issue, Eric Adams is currently facing an arrest. This is the result of Democrats not cooperating with Democratic leadership.

The FBI raids and investigations that targeted the mayor's administration resulted in his indictment.

According to the Daily Mail, federal agents confiscated Adams' iPad and phones in November. More recently, Sheena Wright, the first deputy mayor, and Phil Banks, the deputy mayor for public safety, had their residences raided.

With approximately 217,300 foreigners arriving in New York City as a result of the migrant crisis, Adams has been outspoken in his criticism of the federal government's handling of the situation. "The federal government did nothing as its faulty immigration policies swamped our shelter system," the mayor alleges, in spite of his pleadings.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is among many who have called for Adams' resignation, but Adams is unflinching. "I will lead this city because you chose me to do so," he said in his video statement. The New York Times reports that the indictment has caused much discussion and anxiety for the city, particularly since public advocate Jumaane Williams would take over as acting mayor in the event that Adams resigned.
