Biden’s Radical Plan to Overhaul the Supreme Court in Fear of President Trump’s Return

President Biden unveiled a divisive and drastic plan to restructure the Supreme Court on Monday, hoping to curtail the authority of former President Trump in the event that he were to run for office again. Term limits, a mandatory code of conduct for justices, and a change to the president's immunity from prosecution are all included in the proposal.
In an opinion piece published in the Washington Post on Monday, Biden proposed three major reforms to the court, which he characterizes as "engulfed in a crisis of ethics." Term restrictions for justices, a mandatory code of behavior, and a major amendment guaranteeing that no president is above the law are among these improvements. The president's plan seems to be a direct reaction to the recent 6-3 ruling by the court that granted a president extensive protection for crimes they committed while in office.
"The fundamental idea upon which this country was built is that nobody is above the law. Not America's president. There is not one justice on the United States Supreme Court. Nobody," Biden penned. He disagreed with the Supreme Court's ruling, claiming it essentially removes all restrictions on presidential power other than those the president himself imposes.
"If a future president incites a violent crowd to rush the Capitol and impede the peaceful transfer of power—like we saw on January 6, 2021—there may be no legal penalties," wrote Biden, expressing evident anxiety over Trump's possible return to office.
