Susan Rice Blames the Unmasking Scandal Allegations on Gender and Race
When all the excuses have been exhausted and there is nothing else to hide behind, out comes the Former National Security Adviser, Susan Rice blaming racism for her actions! The House intelligence committee plans to interview Rice in July as part of its investigation into Russia meddling in the US election last year.
In an interview that was published Monday in the New York Magazine, Rice spoke to Michael Tomasky about the scandal and appeared to shift the blame to another Obama Official, Jay Carney. The nature of the interview gave the appearance that she seems backed in a corner, as if she has something to hide.
Tomasky asked Rice why she believes she's being considered as a potential target by conservative media about the unmasking. She laughed and responded "I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. What do you think?" And after asking a few more evasive questions, Rice cited the example of Condoleezza Rice, who was excoriated.
While Rice concluded that racism is not completely to blame, she said "I do not leap to the simple explanation that it's only about race and gender. I'm trying to keep my theories to myself until I'm ready to come out with them. It's not because I don't have any."
The "unmasking" scandal was highligted when President Trump tweeted an accusation that the Obama administration "wire tapped" him at Trump Towers before the election.
President Donald Trump and Republicans are paying close attention to allegations that Rice revealed names of Trump's transition aides in intelligence reports--called "unmasking"--saying that Obama officials were seeking to divulge damaging information about the Trump campaign.
At that time, it came to light that Susan Rice had "unmasked" Trump associates that were incidentally recorded by U.S. intelligence agencies. The left defended Rice's actions as just a regular course of her office. However, critics of her actions said that this was an unusual and illegal act, and that she should face criminal charges. So, it appears that we are nearing the time when Rice's actions are coming back to haunt her.
Adding an appearance of guilt to the allegations against her, Rice, in May, refused a request from the judiciary subcommittee on crime and terrorism to testify on the matter, saying that it was not a bipartisan request. Rice's refusal to testify incited another response from the President's Twitter account.
Only the NSA or the FBI has the power to unmask information concerning intelligence. Rice didn't and couldn't order unmasking of any American. It appears that this national security issue is being used by the Democrats to halt the efforts surrounding the passing of the health care bill. Who knows for sure? The Swamp is thick and unpredictable!
Rice have repeatedly denied doing anything wrong, but she has yet to answer questions from lawmakers, including declining to appear before a Senate judiciary subcommittee in May. And now, she has agreed to appear in a closed-door session that is expected to take place before the House departs for its August recess.
While Rice may have alluded to race and gender as the possible motive for her being targeted for "leaking", it is clear that her argument will fall on deaf ears if she is found to be guilty. And "leaking" is the appropriate term here because we already know that Rice did not have the authority to "unmask" any one.
Wow! The left can be likened to a bucket full of holes; past and present administration just keeps on leaking all over the swamp!!
