The cable network has been hit by a number of high-profile scandals in recent times ranging from sexual harassments, bribery and discrimination.  Bill Shine had only taken up the position of the co-president of the network last summer after the dismissal of Roger Ailes following allegations of sexual harassment and immorality.

A memo to employees of the network from 21st Century Fox and Fox News Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch reads, “Sadly, Bill Shine resigned today (Monday).  I know Bill was liked and respected by everybody at Fox News”

“Fox News continues to break both viewing and revenue records, for which I thank you all for.  I am sure we can do even better,” the memo continued.

This new development prompted an immediate shake-up as it has been confirmed that Suzanne Scott will step-up to the role of president of programming, while Jay Wallace will step-in as the president of news.

The last few months have been tough for the media outfit. It will be recalled that firstly, Roger Ailes was dismissed last summer following accusations of sexual harassment.  Most recently, Bill O’Reilly who had initially enjoyed a 21-year working experience with the network was relieved of his duties after it was revealed by the New York Times that he was involved in a number of sexual harassment cases.  Bill O’Reilly’s exit came shortly after he signed a new multi-year contract with Fox.  Bill O’Reilly received tens of millions of dollars for being fired.

Bill Shine is also a 20-year veteran of the network.  Shine allegedly had the backing of Chairman Rupert Murdoch.
