Since assuming office as the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump has been keen on making a lasting impression.  January 20th, 2017 was the day he was inaugurated along with his vice Mike Pence to take over the mantle of leadership of the most powerful nation in the world.  Even before his election, President Donald J. Trump had already announced his plans and what he hoped to achieve in his first 100 days as the President.

In his first 100 days President Trump has made some landmark achievements.  One of his notable accomplishments certainly has to be his appointment of Neil Gorsuch as a Supreme Court Justice.  Donald Trump was very quick to make a mark after assuming office.  

In his first day as President, he signed an executive order to cancel The Affordable Care act awaiting the Repeal and Replacement of Obama Care.  For the records, Donald Trump has signed more executive orders in 100 days than any other American leader since Franklin D. Roosevelt.  In fact, he has had a flurry of executive orders.

EXECUTIVE ORDER MINIMIZING THE ECONOMIC BURDEN OF THE PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

This order was aimed at reversing the Affordable Care Act signed by his predecessor, Barack Obama. This was signed on Jan. 20, 2017.  A few hours after he assumed office at the white house

EXPEDITING ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS AND APPROVALS FOR HIGH-PRIORITY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

This order was signed on Jan. 24, 2017 and it directs the Chairman of the CEQ (Council on Environmental Quality) to determine the impact of a project on the environment within a 30-day request period and to also judge if such project is “high quality”.

ENHANCING PUBLIC SAFETY IN THE INTERIOR OF THE UNITED STATES

This order was aimed at changing a couple of policies regarding immigration. It was signed on Jan. 25, 2017

BORDER SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IMPROVEMENTS

This order was signed the same day as the order Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States.  It was aimed at improving security across all American borders which was one of President Trump’s key election promises

PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES

This executive order was signed on Jan. 27, 2017 Placing a temporary pause on immigration from some Islamic countries that house Islamic terrorist (Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen and Somalia) from gaining access into the United States of America for a period of 90 days. It also barred refuges from coming into the country for 120 days until we can properly vet.  The order also suspended Barack Obama’s Visa Interview Waiver Program of 2012.

ETHICS COMMITMENTS BY EXECUTIVE BRANCH APPOINTEES

This is an executive order that puts a restriction on executive branch officials preventing them from lobbying for a 5-year period after they must have left office. It also puts a ban on lobbying the government of another nation. It was signed on Jan. 28, 2017.

REDUCING REGULATION AND CONTROLLING REGULATORY COSTS

This executive order was made to checkmate executive departments and agencies.  It stipulates that for every one new regulation proposed, they must slash two regulations and that spending on regulation cannot be more than $0.  The President signed this order on Jan. 30, 2017

CORE PRINCIPLES FOR REGULATING THE UNITED STATES FINANCIAL SYSTEM

Signed on Feb. 3, 2017, this order forms the financial basis of the Trump’s administration.  The treasury secretary is directed to do a proper review of all financial regulations and submit a detailed report to the President within 120 days.

TASK FORCE ON CRIME REDUCTION AND PUBLIC SAFETY

During his campaign, Donald Trump made a promise to return sanity to the inner cities of the United States of America, especially those with a high crime rate.  In keeping up with his mandate, Trump directed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to create a task force, that would propose new legislation to reduce crime, especially illegal immigration, violent crime, and drug trafficking.  It was signed on Feb. 9, 2017.

PREVENTING VIOLENCE AGAINST FEDERAL, STATE, TRIBAL, AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

This order was aimed at increasing penalties for any crime committed against a law enforcement officer.  It was also signed on Feb. 9, 2017.

ENFORCING FEDERAL LAW WITH RESPECT TO TRANSNATIONAL CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS AND PREVENTING INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING

This executive order spelt out President Trump’s approach to tackling organized crime. It was signed on Feb. 9, 2017.
