Some players of the New England Patriots opted out of not to be a part of the visit to the White House on yesterday.  The team met with President Donald J. Trump Wednesday afternoon as part of activities to mark their huge victory Super Bowl Win.

Some of the expected absentee of quarterback Tom Brady, spending time with his mother who is battling cancer but we don’t understand why defensive end Chris Long, defensive tackle Alan Branch, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, tight end Martellus Bennet, running back LeGarrette Blount and safety Devin McCourty didn’t attend.

Here is one their excuses

Team captain, Devin McCourty explained to Time magazine. “Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the President having so many strong opinions and prejudices, I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t.”

The Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime at the 2017 Super Bowl final in February and star quarterback Tom Brady was full of praise for his friend President Donald Trump despite his absence. He said, “Our team has accomplished something very special that we are all proud of and will be for years to come. Hopefully, if we accomplish the goal of winning a championship in the future years, we will be back on the South Lawn again soon.”

Brady was a stern supporter of Donald Trump throughout the election campaign.
