Let The Swamp Draining Begin, AG Sessions Had One Word For 46 Attorneys: RESIGN!
As of Friday the Justice Department announced that 46 U.S. attorneys that served under former President Barack Obama have been asked by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to stand down from their positions and follow in the foot steps of 47 of their counterparts and step down. This may have been an attempt to create a more uniform transition lined with officials that unifies behind the Trump administration. To insure that there's no energy of disdain filling the air among Obama’s Operatives, Sessions as of now is seeking to tender the resignation of the remaining 46 U.S. Attorneys that worked under the Obama administration.
A spokesperson from the Department of Justice, Peter Carr, stated that "The President informed Dana Boente and Rod Roesenstein that he will not accept their resignations, and that they will remain in their current positions but " No such word was given to Preet Bharara, the US Attorney General for the Southern District of New York. Bharara met with Trump in November 2016 and agreed to stay on in his current capacity as the Manhattan US attorney, a position granted to him by former President Barack Obama in 2009.
It is not uncommon for US attorneys to resign during the transition between presidents, though it is not an automatic process. Under the Bush Administration it was alleged that Bush had planned to fire 93 U.S. attorneys, however doing the Obama administration it was seen that those U.S. Attorney's serving under former president George Bush were not asked to leave until their successors had been named. There was one U.S. Attorney that even served under Bush and then Obama.
AMERICANS ARE TIRED OF SMELLING SWAMP JUICE
DRAIN THE DAMN SWAMP
Democrats were shock to hear about the resignations given to all 46 remaining U.S. attorneys, acting as if this was the first time in the history of any administration that U.S. attorneys have ever been asked to resign. If the Trump administration chooses to ask for the resignations of all who worked for the Obama administration, then the Dems must understand this is what we call: "Draining the Swamp. Thank you Senator Jeff Sessions for doing your job, we know it’s hard to “Drain the Swamp when you have Rats clogging the pipes!
